Website Update, Monday 3/20

We have a very important announcement, but first I want to cover a time sensitive story.

OHSAA Commissioner Jerry Snodgrass has ask all Ohio High Schools to turn their stadium lights on tonight (Monday) at 8:20 (20:20 military time) for 20 minutes to honor the Class of 2020.  Madeira, Mariemont, Wyoming  have done this in the last week or so but hopefully all will turn them on tonight.  It is a tough time to be a high school senior.  This is one way that they will be honored.  If you are out and about tonight, check out your local school to see if the lights are on.

Now the big news of the day.  This afternoon, Governor DeWine announced that Ohio schools will continue remote learning the rest of the 2019-2020 school year.  So no school buildings will be opened this spring.  Check back in the coming days for more information.

Finally, I like to send out birthday greetings to a good friend of mine, Bill Hart.  Bill taught social studies and coached cross country & basketball at Northwest Schools for many years.  In the late 1990's, he became the shot put/discus coach at Reading High School, a job he held for several years.  In recent years, Coach Hart had short stint as shot & discus coach at Deer Park High School. In his coaching years at Reading & Deer Park, he had four athletes make it to the state championships.  Have a great day Coach Hart!
