Bowling Update -Thursday


First, let's start with Division I sectionals.  Taylor boys finished 16th.  Charles Yungbluth was the top bowler for the Yellowjackets.
Four teams were in district play at Beaver Vue lanes in Beavercreek.  

Deer Park was 13th, Reading 14th, & Taylor 15th.  Kassidy Russell-Gamble was the top bowler for the Wildcats.  She had a 540 three game series including a 236 game.  Caitlyn Prince was the top bowler for the Blue Devils.  Ella Harvey was the top bowler for the Yellowjackets, who were making their first trip as a team to the district championships.
The top four teams advance to the state championships.  Reading was 5th, missing going to state by 2 pins.  Their score was 4047.  Ian Carpenter was 16th overall with a 615 series.  He had two games of  220 & 223.

This competes the season for league bowlers.

Division II Bowling Sectionals

Boys - Colerain Bowl 
The top three teams and three individuals advance to the district championships.  Reading was 3rd with 3383 pins.  Only 28 pins separated the top three teams.  Ian Carpenter was 6th overall with a three game series of 567 and high game of 212.  Jeremy Easter was 10th with a 517 & a high game of 197.  Jacob Daniel was 13th & Zach Schueler 14th.  Deer Park was 9th.  Eric Hamilton was 12th with a 504 series.  Wyoming was 10th & their top bowler was Sebastian Sinigagia.
Boys - Cherry Grove Lanes 
Mariemont was 8th.  Dylan Buerger was 12th with a 525 series.  He tied for the final individual spot with two other bowlers, but lost out on high game.

Girls - Cherry Grove Lanes
Mariemont was 10th. Julie Meece was the top bowler for the Warriors.
Girls - Colerain Bowl

The top four teams and four individuals advance to the district championships.  league teams dominated this sectional taking three of the top four spots.  Deer park won with 3275 pins, almost 190 pins better than 2nd place.  Chelsea Hammer was the top bowler with a three game series of 585.  Her top game was a 214.  Kassidy Russell-Gamble was 3rd with a 545 & a high game of 204.  Drew Handorf was 7th with 462 .  Rachel Boyd was 13th.  Reading was 3rd with a 3048.  Caitlyn Prince was 4th with a 535 series.  Her high game of 235 was the best of any bowler.  Makayla Lawson was 14th, Mak Morgan 18th, & Brianna Smyth 30th.  Taylor was 4th with 2858 pins.  Amanda Pessler was 6th with a 480.  Kylia Burdick was 8th & Ella Harvey 14th.  Jewell Byrne & Kitana Meyer tied for 4th bowler for the Yellowjackets.  Wyoming was 10th.  Their top bowler was Natalie Barth.

The boys and girls D2 district championships will be Thursday, February 20th at Beaver-Vu Bowl in Bervercreek.  The top four teams and four individuals advance to state.
