State Cross Country Update

Conditions at the state cross country meet Saturday at National Trail Raceway were better this year then last year.  The runners had typical November weather, cool and dry.

Division III Girls
Madeira came in 17th.  Sophomore Maddie Liebert was the top runner for the Amazons.  Rounding out the scoring were freshman Izzy Arredondo, freshman Claire LeRoy, freshman Emma Beck, & sophomore Rosie Davis.  The 6th & 7th runners were junior Maggie Sampson & sophomore Caroline Widmeyer.

Division II Girls
Three individual girls from the league ran in this race.  Elizabeth Whaley of Indian Hill was the highest place finisher of any league runner at the meet.  The sophomore finished 12th out of 176 runners, earning her a medal and a podium finish.  Freshman Lily Bauer of Mariemont was 24th. Senior Tiffany Chen of Wyoming was 59th.

Division II Boys
Madeira finished 13th.  Senior Diego Arredondo was the top runner for the Mustangs.  Rounding out the scoring were senior Dylan Whitson, senior Ben Ramos, junior Ethan Henry, & junior Calvin Busch.  The 6th & 7th runners were junior Luke Mitchell & sophomore Jacob Gaffney.  Two league individuals also ran in the race.  Senior Alex Galbraith of Indian Hill was 37th & senior Nick Lake of Taylor was 49th.

Congratulations to all the runners for making it to the state meet.  Special congratulations to Madeira Coach Josh Dooley for having both of his team make it to the state championships.  The future looks good for Madeira cross country.  Four of the boys and all seven of the girls who made it to state are underclassmen.
