Hirsch/Coburn State Doubles Champs

10/13/2019

Senior Hayley Hirsch of Indian Hill was making her 4th trip to the state tennis championships.  Her 4th time was the best.  Hirsch and senior Morgan Coburn won the state Division II doubles championship at the ATP Lindner Family Tennis Center in Mason.  The duo had little problems at the state finals as they easily won all four of their matches including the championship match against Shaker Heights Laurel.  Hirsch and sister Gracey were 3rd in state doubles in 2016 & 2017.  Last year Haley made it to the 2nd round of singles.  Coburn was at the state championships in singles as a freshman.
Indian Hill Hill junior Bella Kirby lost in her first round match.  Juniors Jessica August & Jessie Budde (Indian Hill) lost in the 1st round to the Shaker Heights Laurel team.  Senior Peyton Osha & sophomore Sydney Evans (Wyoming) also had a 1st round loss.

Congratulations to all seven players for making it to the state championships and special congratulations to Hayley & Morgan for their state doubles title!

Indian Hill tennis is not done yet.  They will be playing in the Division II state team championships on Sunday in Reynoldsburg.  The #1 state ranked Braves will be taking on #3 ranked Columbus Academy in the semi finals.  The winner will play the winner of #9 Toledo Central Catholic - Hathaway Brown match for the state team title.  Indian Hill has won the state team title five times, the last one in 2013.
