Fall Weekly Update, November 4 - 9

This is the last week for fall weekly update.  Football competed their regular season. Football stat leaders are posted. Complete stats are posted under sport's link.

FOOTBALL
Wyoming (7-0, 10-0) won the league title for the 4th year in row and the 6th out of the last 7. It is their 18th overall CHL football title. The Cowboys have won 41 straight regular season games & 25 games in a row,  Both marks are the best in Ohio. Indian Hill (6-1, 8-2) finished 2nd. Madeira has an 8-2 overall record, Mariemont 7-3, & Deer Park 6-4.  There were two good games Friday that involve playoffs and league title.

In the SID Game of the Week, Wyoming quarterback Evan Prater had a career high 303 yards rushing on 37 carries as the Cowboys captured the league title with a 21-18 win over Indian Hill.  Wyoming got on the board first on a Prater 12 yard run.  AJ Washienko PAT made it 7-0.  At the start of the 2nd quarter, Luke Lindberg had a 25 yard field goal putting the Braves on the board.  Late in the 2nd quarter, Prater scored on a 3 yard run.  Washienko PAT made the score 14-3 Wyoming at the Half.  In the 3rd quarter, Prater scored his 3rd TD of the night on a 1 yard run.  Washienko's PAT stretch the Cowboy lead to 21-3.  In the 4th quarter, Indian Hill started a comeback.  Tre Lopez pass to Luke Hammond for 8 yards & Lundberg's PAT cut the score to 21-10.  With less than 5 minutes to go, Lopez pass to Amari Whitehead for a 19 yard score.  
Lopez converted 2 point conversion to close the gap to 21-18.  With 4 1/2 minutes to go in the game, Indian Hill's onside kick was recovered by Wyoming. the Cowboys ran the clock out to preserve the win and capture the league title.

In the second big game, the playoffs were on the line with Mariemont at Madeira.  Madeira scored first on a Johnathan Thiele 2 yard run.  Jack Hanley's PAT gave the Mustangs a 7-0 lead.  Mariemont answered on a Seth Greene 5 yard pass from Andrew Glassmeyer.  Conner Sounders PAT tied the game at 7 all.  Madeira came back with a Sam Autry to Lee Megois pass for 22 yards.  Hanley PAT made it 14-7 after the 1st quarter.  In the 2nd quarter Greene had a 13 yard TD & Sounders PAT tied the game at 14 all.  In the 3rd quarter, Mariemont took their first lead on a Greene 1 yard score.  The PAT failed making it 20-14 Warriors. Madeira came back with an Autry to Megois TD pass for 19 yards.  Hanley PAT put Mdeira back on top 21-20.  The defenses took over in the 4th quarter as Madeira held on for the one point win and a place in the play offs.

Deer Park scored 35 first half points and went on to a 48-7 win over Reading.  The Wildcats had 337 yards rushing.  Deshaun McEntire 103 yards rushing a TD runs of 1, 25, & 15 yards.  Nore Johnson had 120 yards rushing & a TD run of 63 yards.  Jerry Heard was for 4 for 7 passing, but two of those completions were for touchdowns.  Johnson. caught one for 44 yards & Shaun Crockett the other for 21 yards.  Crockett also had a 2 point conversion.  Reading's touchdown was a Joel Steinkoenig to Tanner Cromer pass for 32 yards.

Taylor beat Finneytown 20-14.  Skylar Hicks had three touchdowns for the Yellowjackets.  Two were rushing and the third on a pass from Gage Hall.

This week, Division IV & Division V regional quarterfinal games will on Saturday.  In Division IV, #1 Wyoming start their journey to back to back state championships with a home game with #8 West Milton Milton Union.  Also in D4, #5 Indian Hill will be at #4 Kenton.  In Division V, #5 Madeira will travel to #4 West Liberty Salem.  All games are schedule for 7:00 starts.

VOLLEYBALL
Wyoming finished 14-0 in the league. The Cowboys league win streak is now 140 in a row.  They won their 10 straight league title and 15th overall in the CHL. 

BOYS' SOCCER
A league title is based on points.  Three points are given for a win and one point for a tie.
Wyoming  won the league title with a  6-0-1 (19 points) league mark.  Wyoming won its 3rd straight league title & 8th overall in the CHL. 


GIRLS' SOCCER
A league title is determined by points.  Three points are given for a win and one point for a tie.
Indian Hill captured the league title with a 5-0-2 (17 points) mark. For Indian Hill it was the 6th league title in the last 7 years and the 8th over in the CHL.  


GIRLS' TENNIS
Indian Hill finished 4-0 in the league. The Braves have clinched their 23rd league title in a row. 


BOYS' GOLF

The league championship is decided by points.  Teams get one point for each team they beat at the league preview.  Two points are given for regular season 9 hole win and two points for each team they beat at the league championship. 
Mariemont has 28 points, Wyoming 23, & Indian Hill 22.  The Warriors clinched the league title, their first since 1997 and only the 2nd overall in the CHL. 

GIRLS' GOLF
Four league schools have teams; Indian Hill, Madeira, Taylor, & Wyoming.  Indian Hill is coming back after last playing in 2015.
Wyoming won the league championship tournament and is the league champ.


GIRLS' CROSS COUNTRY
Indian Hill won the league title for the first time since 2013.  it is their 5th overall in the CHL.  See related story.

Madeira won their 3rd straight league title and their 9th overall in the CHL.  See related story.
