Website Update - Wednesday Morning

We are in the last week of the 2018-2019 high school sports season.  The CHL has two lacrosse teams and several track & field athletes still competing, all on the state level.

What do Mariemont & Columbus St. Francis DeSales have in common?  Both schools have girls & boys lacrosse teams in the state semi-finals.  The two schools meet Wednesday with the winners moving on to the state championship on Saturday.  Mariemont girls play at 5:30 & Mariemont boys play at 7:30.  The two schools also played each other last year in the semi-finals.  Mariemont girls won in overtime and the boys lost by 2 goals.  The games are being played at Centerville Alumni Stadium.  It is located behind Magsig Middle School at 192 West Franklin Street.
Note - The tornado damage in the Dayton area did not effect Centerville.  Although, weather conditions today might effect the games.  We will attempt to keep you updated by Twitter or stories if there are delays.

State track & field will be competing on Friday & Saturday in Columbus.  Athletes from Indian Hill, Madeira, Mariemont, & Wyoming will be there.  Indian Hill girls are represented in nine events in Division II.  Senior Anna Podojil will be in four of those events. Podojil was injured her junior year but in her freshman & sophomore years, she qualified in four events each year.  In those eight events over two years, she had podium finishes in seven of them, including a state title in the 200 Dash her sophomore year.  Freshman Elizabeth Whaley is following in the footsteps of her teammate.  Whaley has qualified for state in four events, two individual and two relays.  The time schedule for the state meet will be posted later on Wednesday.

Track & field league results are now posted along with track & field all league.
