Website Update - Friday 5/10

Many varsity events are going on.  We will be having more web updates in the days and weeks to come.  Because you can only see five stories at a time on the web front page, we are going to change up on the coverage of post season to make it easier.  Post season sports will be under four headlines:  Softball/Baseball, Girls' & Boys' Lacrosse, Boys' Tennis, Girls' & Boys' Track & Field.  The fifth story will be the web updates.  We will keep this format until the sports are done or a team or individual makes it to the state championships.

Taylor has clinched the softball league title.  Second place is still up for grabs.  Friday, Deer Park (11-2) will be at Reading (10-3).  The Wildcats won the first meeting 1-0.  Taylor will host New Richmond in the sectionals Friday.

Taylor has clinched at least a tie for the baseball league title.  The Yellowjackets (12-1) will be at Indian Hill (10-3)  Friday for the final league game.  Taylor won the first meeting with the Braves.  A Taylor win would be an outright title.  A Indian Hill win would make Wyoming (12-2) & Taylor co-champs.

The Cincinnati Boys' Tennis Sectional was postponed yesterday.  It is being played on Friday indoors at the Camargo Racket Club.  Any player making it to the semi finals/finals Saturday will be advancing to the district.  Already making it to Saturday from the Mason Sectional are Indian Hill players Coleman Warstler, Nick Grossi, Anay Guatham, Jasper Bennett, Tejas Pisati, & Mack Ellis and Madeira players Gray Palmer & Eli Reed.

Most of the lacrosse regional games will played be next week.  Taylor boys gets it started on Saturday at Franklin High School.

The first day of the CHL Track & Field Championships were postponed because of weather.  The one day meet will take place on Friday at Taylor.  If the weather holds off, look for some records to fall.  Field events begin at 4:30 & running finals at 6:00.  Track & Field districts will be next week at New Richmond High School.

Junior Ellie Podojil, Indian Hill soccer, was named to the 2019 Allstate All American Cup this summer.  We will have more details on her honor in the next couple of weeks.

Friday, in major league baseball, Seattle will be at Boston.  The Mariner's starting pitcher will be Erik Swanson (Mariemont High School)  The Red Sox's lead off batter is Andrew Benintendi (Madeira High School).  It is the first time these two have met since high school.
