Website Update - Friday Afternoon

03/08/2019

Three league wrestlers made it to the state championships in Columbus.  Here is the update as of Friday afternoon:
In Division II, senior John Mark Williams of Indian Hill won his 1st match, but lost in round 2 to go into the consolation matches.  He won his match in round 3.  He is still alive for a possible 3rd place finish.  Also in Division II, sophomore Jacob Bryan of Wyoming fell in his first two matches to finish his season at 34-12.
In Division III, Colton Robins of Reading has gone the same way as Williams.  The senior won round 1, lost round 2, and won round 3.  He too is still alive for a possible 3rd place finish.
Wrestling continues later on Friday and the top eight spots to be determined Saturday.

Two league teams will be playing in the Division III District Championships at University of Dayton Arena on Sunday.  Reading plays Versailles at 1:00 and Deer Park plays Stivers at 3:00.

Wyoming had a disappointing end to their boys' basketball season, but two players did reach milestones.  Senior Joey Edmonds finishes his career at Wyoming 1st in 3 pointers made (233), 2nd in career points (1440), and 1st in career assists (385).  In his final game of the season junior Evan Prater reached the 1000th career point mark.  Wyoming finished the regular season ranked 3rd in the state in Division II.

All league selections are posted in all of the winter sports.

Despite the cold, spring practices continue.
