24 Wrestlers Advance To District,Two As Sectional Champs

A total of 24 wrestlers from Division II & Division III will be advancing to the district championships.  Each division had a CHL sectional champ.  The top four in each weight class advance.

Division II
The D2 sectional was held at Batavia High School. Indian Hill was runner-up with 178 points.  Wyoming was 6th with 106.5 points & Taylor 8th with 93 points.  
The Braves had 8 wrestlers advance to the districts.  John Mark Williams won the 170 class. The senior had 4 pins in his 4 matches, one of them in 6 seconds. Williams finished 7th in the state last year. His record going into districts is 42-2.  Jaden Anderson was runner-up in 138 & Jack Hankin was runner up in 220.  Third place finishes were Cooper Leszczuk (113) & Charlie Lindberg (195).  Finishing 4th were Harris Foad (132), Spencer Mangialardo (126) & Nathan Berger (182).
Wyoming has 5 district qualifiers.  Runner-up finishes were Jacob Bryan (113), Nathan Bryan (132), & Jared Hancock (160).  Finishing 3rd was Oynx Mendenhall (220) & finishing 4th was Bruce Wagers (195).
Taylor has three wrestlers moving on.  Dillon Davidson was runner-up in 195.  Joshua Chapman was 3rd in 160 & Dakotah Ritter was 4th in 170.

Fifth place wrestlers at the sectionals are alternates in case a wrestler in the top four cannot make it.  Taylor had three wrestlers in the 5th position: Jared Ullmannn (106), Will Lawless (145), & Seth Runyan (182).  Dan Sheard (152) & Matthew Brides (285) finished 5th for Indian Hill.

Division III
The D3 sectional was held at Blanchester High School.  Reading was 5th with 105 points.  Madeira was 7th with 82 points.  Deer Park was 13th & Mariemont 20th.  Reading had 4 wrestlers advance.  Colton Robins won the 132 weight class.  Two of his four wins were by pins & two by technical falls. Robins has a record of 30-2.  Orlando Smith had a 3rd place finish in 113.  Fourth place fishes were by Caden Conner in 126 & Michael Carter in 138.  
Madeira had two runner-up finishes: Ramakrishna Gandhi in 113 & Jackson Hugentobler in 138.  
Ian Goodpaster of Deer Park was 3rd in 145.  
Mariemont only has one wrestler and he made the best of it.  Angelo Mendez was 3rd in the 126 class.
Fifth placers finishers are alternates.  Reading had two: Nathan Robins (106) & Sam Conner (152).  Madeira also had two: Curtis Flores (145) & Johnathan Thiele (170). Kenzi Gibson of Deer Park was 5th in 120.

The District Championships will be on Friday & Saturday.  Division II will be at Wilmington with a 3:00 start on Friday & at 10:30 start on Saturday.  Division III will be at the Hobart Arena in Troy with a 3:00 Friday start and a 10:00 Saturday start.  The top four in each weight class will advance to the state championships.
