13 Divers Move on to District Championships


A total of 13 divers form the CHL will compete in the Division II District Championships after good performances at the sectional meet.

CHL girls dominated the top seeds.  League girls captured 5 of the top 7 seeded points going into the district championships.  Freshman Grace Courtney of Wyoming followed up her league title with a sectional title. Her point total was 474.50.  It was 56.25 points better than 2nd place Lexi Magenheim of Indian Hill.  Kyleigh Spang of Mariemont was 4th, Adrienne Storer of Wyoming was 5th, and Kiersten Souders of Mariemont was 7th.  Also qualifying was Samantha Bonnell of Mariemont.

Senior Ilya Gerasimchuk of Wyoming is the top seed with 484.50 points.  Gerasimchuk was runner up in the state last year to Noah Vigran of Indian Hill.  Nathan Cox of Mariemont was 3rd.  Pavel Gerasimchuk (Wyoming) was 5th, Jacob Cox (Mariemont) 6th, & Ethan Morris (Indian Hill) 7th.  Also moving on to districts are Ben Parker of Wyoming & Noah Gruen of Mariemont.

Divers will be back at Miami University on Monday for the Division II District Championships.  The top five will move on to the state meet.
