Mariemont & Indian Hill Repeat As Swim/Dive Champs

For the 3rd year in a row, the same two teams are league champs in swimming & diving. 

Mariemont girls had 403.5 points, over 88 points more than 2nd place Indian Hill. Wyoming was 3rd with 266.5 points.  Taylor was 4th, Madeira 5th, & Finneytown 6th.  For the Warriors, it is their 6th straight league title in girls' swimming/diving, longest of any Mariemont varsity sport. Warrior senior Cora Dupre repeated as Swimmer of the Year winning four events. Dupre was 1st in the 500 Freestyle (5:07.50) & 100 Butterfly (57.25).  She was also on two winning relay teams: 400 Freestyle (Dupre, junior Elizabeth Bonnell, senior Lainey Newman, senior Catherine Geary) 3:47.67 & 200 Medley (Dupre, Geary, senior Kate Overbey, senior Katarina DeCamp) 1:53.52.   Indian Hill had five individual champs from three freshman.  Isabella Pivor won the 50 Freestyle (25.58) & 100 Freestyle (55.91).  Kathy Zhao won the 100 Breaststroke (1:08.55) & 200 IM (2:14.17).  Anna Palen won the 200 Freestyle(2:05.06).  The Indian Hill 200 Freestyle Relay team of Privor, Zhao, senior Jasmin Lau, & junior Jillian Rice was 1st with a time of 1:43.42.  Freshman Grace Courtney of Wyoming won the 1 Meter Diving with a score of 266.00.  Kevin Maness of Mariemont was Coach of the Year for the 3rd year in a row.


Indian Hill boys have only won three swim/dive titles, but they all have come in the last three years! The Braves had 397 points, 142 better than 2nd place Mariemont. Wyoming was 3rd with 279 points.  Madeira was 4th, Taylor 5th, Reading 6th, & Finneytown 7th.  Indian Hill won seven individual events and two relays.  Junior Will Taylor won two individual events (200 Freestyle 1:48.63 & 500 Freestyle 4:55.11).  Taylor was also on both winning relay teams.  The 200 Freestyle (Taylor, sophomore Dan Edmonson, junior Nick Bulas, junior Devin Edwards) had a time of 1:30.42.  The 200 Medley (Taylor, Edmonson, sophomore Will Ford, sophomore Gabe Yin) had a time 1:42.38.  Taylor was named Swimmer of the Year for the CHL.  Bulas won two individual events: 100 Freestyle (51.01)  & 100 Backstroke (55.28).  Edmonson won the 50 Freestyle (22.77).   Mariemont won three individual events.  Senior Ian Mikesell won the 100 Breaststroke (1:01.17) & 200 IM (2:01.75).  Senior Jackson Comer won the 100 Butterfly (55.07).  Madeira (senior David Stevenson, sophomore Luke Dobson, senior Nathan Quente, sophomore Logan Kaising) won the 400 Freestyle Relay in 3:33.90.  Senior Illusha Gerasimchuk of Wyoming won the 1 Meter Diving with a score of 330.80.  Indian Hill coach Brandon Voorhies repeated as Coach of the Year.

SID Note - Interesting fact about the meet this year.  There were no league records broken.  Mariemont had a couple of pool records broken.
