Winter Weekly Update 11/26 - 12/2


As Wyoming gets ready to play in the state football championship, the winter sports season is under way.  Girls' basketball and bowling have already started.  Boys' basketball gets going this week.  Swimming/diving and wrestling get started next week.  Stat leaders for basketball & bowling will be first posted the week of December 10.  Swimming/diving & wrestling will be first posted the week of December 17.  Complete stats can be found under each sport's link.

The "M" schools have dominated the last four years.  Madeira & Mariemont tied for the league title last school year.  Mariemont won it the two previous years.  Madeira won in 2015.  Madeira opened the season with a win.
Some Results From Last Week...
Madeira 48 North College Hill 29 Three Amazons scored in double figures led by Carly Scott's 12 points. 
Aiken edged Finneytown by two, 38-36.  Asoni Denison Peeples scored 28 of the 36 points for the Wildcats.  Storm Hyden added 17 rebounds.

There 15 non league games scheduled for this week.

Deer Park is defending league and state champ.  The Wildcats enter the season with a 29 game win streak.

Boys' basketball starts Friday with a total of 9  non league games Friday & Saturday.

Reading won the 1st ever CHL girls' bowling title last school year.  The Blue Devils have started this season 1-0.
Some Results From Last Week...
Reading 1999 Loveland 1992  Rylynne Jenksins had a high game 190 and two game series of 367.

Deer Park & Taylor tied for the 1st ever CHL boys' bowling title last school year.  Finneytown will join the boys' ranks this season.

There are 11 matches this week, 5 of them league matches.  Monday, Wyoming will be at Reading in the first league match of the CHL winter season.

Indian Hill broke Reading's 12 title league streak last school year.

The first wrestling matches will be next week.

Mariemont goes for its 6th league title in a row and 8 out of the last 10.

Indian Hill has only won two league titles in CHL history.  Both were the last two years.
