Wyoming Golfers Good Showing At State

Wyoming's boys and girls golf teams both had good showing at the Division II State Championships in Columbus.  The state championships was a 36 hole tourney over two days.

The Cowboy girls finished 4th in the state tournament.  Sophomore Sophia Dulin led the team with a 36 hole score of 168. Junior Victory Lee had a 172.  Freshman Smart Dulin had a 185 & junior Annabelle Walton a 186.  The 5th golf was Senior Greta Warmbier, who fin9ished her high school career with one of her best nine scores.  This was Wyoming's trip as a team to the state championship after their first district championship and first #1 ranking in the Enquirer city poll.

The Cowboy boys finished 8th in the state tournament.  It was their second top 8 performance in the last 3 years (7th -2016).  Senior Dylan Stevens was making his 3rd trip to state.  He finished tied for 9th with a 36 hole score of 159. Last year as an individual, he finished 19th.  In 2016, he tied for 17th.  Junior Thomas Stickney had a 175.  Junior Sam Randman had a 176 & junior Hayden Fischer a 188.  Junior Sam Black (189) was the 5th golfer.

The 
future of golf looks good at Wyoming. Eight of the ten golfers at state were underclassman.  Congratulations to girl's coach Terry Sheehan, boy's coach Rod Crider and all of the Cowboy golfers!
