Wyoming Sweeps D2 Golf Sectionals

Wyoming boy's and girls' golf teams each won their Division II sectional championships.

The girls' played at Hamilton Elks.  Four teams with the lowest scores and four low score individuals not on those teams advance to the district. Wyoming was 1st place with a score of 385.  That was 15 strokes better than 2nd place McNicholas. The Cowboys have won back to back sectionals and will be going to the district tourney for the 5th straight year.  Sophia Dulin finished tied for 3rd with an 87.  Victory Lee was 5th with a 90.  Annabelle Walton was 8th with a 97 & Samara Dulin 18th with a 111.  Greta Wambier was the 5th golfer for the Cowboys.  Taylor was 8th place.  Emily Bick was the top golfer for the Yellowjackets.  The district tourney will be at Pipestone Golf Course in Miamisburg on Wednesday, October 3.

The boys' played at The Mill Course.  Four teams with the lowest scores and four low score individuals not on those teams advance to the districts.  It was one of the closest sectionals in the past years for the team competition. Wyoming was 1st with a score of 319.  That was one stroke better than CHCA & Summit Country Day.  Mariemont was 4th with a 336, one stoke better than 5th place McNicholas. For Wyoming, Dylan Stevens was 2nd overall with a 74.  Thomas Stickney was tied for 7th with a 79.  Sam Randman was tied for 13th with an 81.  Sam Black was 16th with an 85.  Hayden Fischer was the 5th golfer for the Cowboys. For Mariemont, Jack Neville was tied for 7th with a 79.  Andrew Getgey was tied for 10th with an 80.  Max Northop was 18th with an 88.  Tom Buchert was tied for 19th with an 89.  Ben Ciolino was the 5th golfer for the Warriors.  Indian Hill was 6th with a 342.  Two Braves qualified as individuals.  Peter Sheakley was tied for 4th with a 76.  Trey Skidmore was tied for 13th with an 81.  Taylor was 7th with their top golfer Danny Austing.  Madeira was 10th with their top golfer Brandon Conner.  Finneytown was 14th with their top golfer Alex Laird.  Reading was 15th with their top golfer Brayden Godbey. 
The district tourney will be at Glenview Golf Course on Wednesday, October 3.
