Wyoming, League Champs Again In Boys' Golf

With the league tournament being held so early this year, it was thought that the league champ would not be decided because of additional regular season league matches to be played after the tourney.  As it ended up, Wyoming did clinch the league championship based on points no matter what happens in the regular season matches to come.  The Cowboys won the league tournament with Mariemont 2nd and Indian Hill 3rd.  Wyoming has 26 points now.  The max points Indian Hill can get is 25 and Mariemont 24.  So Wyoming is league champ for the 4th straight year.  They have won 6 of the last 7 league titles and 13 total CHL titles.

The league tournament was held at Glenview Golf Course.  With all of the rain the last several days, the course was very wet.  Despite the conditions, Wyoming and Mariemont played it close all day.  The Cowboys came out on top with a four man score of 315.  Mariemont had a 318.  Indian Hill was 3rd with a 356 and Madeira 4th with a 377.  Taylor was 5th, Reading 6th, & Finneytown 7th.  Dylan Stevens of Wyoming did very well on the wet course shooting a 71.  He was 5 stokes better than 2nd place Jack Neville of Mariemont (76).  Sam Black of Wyoming won a scorecard playoff  to claim the 3rd place medal.  He tied with Andrew Getgey (Mariemont) with a score of 78.  Sam Randman (82) & Thomas Stickney (84) rounded out the Wyoming scoring. Tom Buchert (80) &  Ben Ciolinio (84) rounded out the Mariemont scoring.

Usually we we tell you the boys' golf will be at the Sectional Tournament next.  But that will not take place until Thursday, September 27 at the The Mill Course.  Meanwhile, teams will have more regular season matches to play.
