Wyoming Girls' Golf Season Ends At District


Wyoming girls' golf were at the Division II District Championships at Pipestone Golf Course in Miamisburg.  The Cowboys finished 4th with a score of 399.  Unfortunately only three teams qualify for the state tourney out of the Southwest District.  Wyoming miss by 8 strokes. They were the top D2 team from the Cincinnati area.  Sophomore Victory Lee was tied for 4th overall with a score of 84.  She miss by 2 strokes of qualifying for the state as an individual.  Senior Anna Sponaugle tied for 16th with a 96.  Senior Abby McMonigal shot a 109, junior Kayla Roeske & sophomore Annabelle Walton each had a 110.

Congratulations to Coach Terry Sheehan and the Cowboy golfers for a great season.

SID Note -  The medalist for the district championships was Sarah Willis from Eaton.  The senior shot a 69, 12 strokes better than 2nd place.  She is the defending state Division II champ.  During the regular season, she competed on the boys team.  At her boys' league championship, she was medalist!
