Indian Hill & Mariemont Move On to Larosse Final Four


This year, lacrosse became an official state sanctioned event.  Now the teams will be starting  their first ever OHSAA state championship tournament. The four league teams that have varsity lacrosse are Indian Hill, Madeira, Mariemont, & Wyoming.  All teams are Division II and play in Region 8.  The tournament will be regional games, state semi-final & final games. 

In the Region 8 girls' championship, Indian Hill & Mariemont went back and forth in scoring.  The Braves came out on top by the score of 11-8.  Indian Hill is 20-1 on the season and has won 14 in a row.  The four regional champs will be seeded1 to 4 with 1 taking on 4 and 2 taking on 3 in the state semi finals. Based on the RPI ranking, Indian Hill will be the #1 seed.  Their opponent and the game site are to be determined. The semi-final game will be on Tuesday.  Mariemont finished a great season 15-4.

In the Region 8 boys' championship, the two schools flip flop regional champs.  Mariemont dominated the game, winning 17-5 over Indian Hill.  The Warriors are 17-3 on the season and have won 9 of their last 10 games.  Mariemont will take on Region 7 champ Bishop Watterson in the state semi-finals on Wednesday at 5:15 at Chaminade-Julienne High School in Dayton. Indian Hill finished a great season 13-7.
